United Airlines launches first Boeing 787 international service

On Thursday, United started its 787 service from Los Angeles to Tokyo.

The service – previously operated with a 777 aircraft – is the first regularly-scheduled international route operated using United’s 787 Dreamliner.

‘Drunk’ women force crew to divert BA flight

A British Airways flight from London Gatwick to Tunis had to divert because of actions by two women who appeared intoxicated.

The women, aged 43 and 50, reportedly tried to force their way into the cockpit on the flight from Gatwick to Tunis.

According to The Sun newspaper, they swore in front of children, refused to return to their seats when directed, and threatened to kill the family of a stewardess.

Avis to buy Zipcar for $500M

Avis Budget has agreed to buy car-sharing company Zipcar.

Avis Budget will pay $12.25 a share for Zipcar, 49 percent more than Zipcar’s Dec. 31 closing share price. The acquisition is slated to close by the end of March.
