Cheapest award in Southwest Airlines’ Rapid Rewards program to cost more
If you’re a member of Southwest Airlines’ Rapid Rewards program, it’s going to cost you more to redeem points for its cheapest tickets.
In particular, you’ll have to spend 70 points for every dollar value of a “Wanna Get Away” flight for bookings made on or after March 31, 2014. Right now, the cost is 60 points per $1.
“Anytime and Business Select reward flight redemption rates, as well as the points per dollar you earn when flying, will remain the same as they are today,” the carrier said in emails to members.
