US Court stops Delta from ending contract
A US federal appeals court upheld a lower court ruling that prevented Delta from ending its agreement with regional carrier Mesa Airlines.
The court’s preliminary injunction will remain in place while the case proceeds in district court, the regional carrier, Mesa Air Group, said in a statement Thursday.
In 2008, Delta canceled its agreement with a Mesa subsidiary saying it had poor completion rates. Mesa contended those cancellations stemmed from Delta’s decision to run Mesa flights out of John F Kennedy Airport and were beyond the airline’s control.
Last minute emergency passports no longer welcome in the United States
If you lost your passport, you used to be able to obtain an emergency passport at the origination airport when you were traveling to the United States. Now that option is no longer available.
The ability to travel to the US on an emergency passport has come to an end due to advances in technology. The United States demands that all passports of visitors arriving on the Visa Waiver Program contain a radio frequency ID chip with their biometric information.
Sadly, nobody has figured out how to embed one of these RFID chips in last minute travel papers, so anyone who loses their passport is now up poop creek without a paddle.

Does the new ruling affecting lost passports apply only to non-U.S. citizens who are coming to the U. S? I was wondering because of a friend who lost her passport along with credit cards and money to a pickpocket in Barcelona. Would an emergency passport such as hers issued overnight so she could make her flight home be acceptable now?
