Barger, who spoke by phone to the summit being held in Washington, also said that the carrier is on the right track and focused on increasing its footprint this year and into 2014, despite some being skeptical about its positioning between full service airlines and no-frills carriers.

Delta rolls back fare increase

Delta has rolled back its fare increase.

Rick Seaney, CEO of FareCompare.com, which tracks fare increases, said that United Airlines had briefly matched the fare hike over the weekend but that both airlines decided to reverse course.

Freedom! 10 trips without the kids
