Japan probe finds miswiring of Boeing 787 battery on ANA flight that made emergency landing
Japan’s Transport Ministry said that improper wiring of the lithium ion battery is what caused it to overheat.
The Transport Safety Board said in a report that the battery of the aircraft’s auxiliary power unit was incorrectly connected to the main battery that overheated, although a protective valve would have prevented power from the APU from doing damage.

Lufthansa, United Airlines, and Air Canada are set to win approval from the European Commission for a transatlantic tie-up.
The three airlines last year proposed giving up landing and take-off slots at Frankfurt and New York airports following a three-year investigation by the European Commission into their revenue-sharing, pricing and capacity pacts.
