JetBlue introduces new family pooling option
JetBue introduced the ability for families to earn or share their TrueBlue points.
With the option, TrueBlue members can allocate all or some of their individual TrueBlue points into a group account.
The new option applies to families consisting of up to two adults at least 21 years old, and up to five children under the age of 21.
Airline passenger group wants cancellation/change fees waived during U.S. government shutdown
Flyersrights.org feels that the cancellation and change fees should be waived during the government shutdown.
[Paul Hudson, president of FlyersRights.org] noted, “The unprecedented closing of all national parks, hundreds of tourist destinations and nearly all other federal facilities since September 30th has and will continue to require many thousands of travelers to cancel or postpone air travel. This federal shutdown has become a national travel emergency. Airlines and other travel operators should not profit at the expense of passengers with high change fees and inflexible cancellation policies.”
Phoenix airport screening draws angry complaints
TSA’s treatment of people with disabilities is drawing the ire of travelers at Phoenix Sky Harbor airport.
The documents show that the number of such complaints more than doubled in 2012 from 11 in 2011. And the 2012 figure is about 2 1/2 times the national average. The government withheld the names of those who complained to protect their privacy.
Eight of the complaints since 2011 involved women who had survived breast cancer. Their stories were similar.
