Delta upgrades in-flight experience for International Coach customers

If you’ll be flying Delta Air Lines to your next international destination and you’ll be flying in Economy, you’re in for a treat.

Beginning July 1, customers seated in the coach cabin on most of Delta’s international flights will receive printed menus; a complimentary choice of cocktail, including the new Mile High Mojito or Mango Kiss, beer or wine during the main in-flight meal service; and a mid-flight snack.

Five years later, the Miracle on the Hudson still awes aviation

Most of us remember the image of US Airways flight 1549 in the Hudson, which made the crews heroes. Five years later, Capt. Chesley Sullenberger III, crew members, rescuers, and passengers were to take part in a ceremony on Wednesday to commemorate the Miracle on the Hudson.

“I chose the least bad option, but I was happy to have it,” said Sullenberger of the approaching Hudson River. “In this area, since we couldn’t glide as far as a runway, it was the only other place to go that could be made a runway.”

The plane came down safely and television caught the images of people crowding onto the wings, waiting for rescue, a testament to the cabin crew who got people out safely.
