American Airlines has put together the above video to give you a glimpse of how the new logo was created.

L.A. airports panel approves moving runway closer to homes

Despite objections by homeowners living near LAX, airport commissioners approved the plan to move the northernmost runway closer to homes for efficiency and safety reasons.

The action is part of a larger modernization effort designed to keep one of the nation’s busiest aviation centers — and an economic engine for the region — competitive in an era of larger jetliners and airport upgrades in major cities, such as San Francisco.

United improves on-time performance after year of glitches

United Airlines improved its on-time performance in January and will give eligible employees a one-time $100 bonus.

Last month, nearly 82.8 percent of United’s domestic flights and 80.5 percent of its international flights arrived on time.
