Heather, I added the original photo. It was taken in Springfield VA, about 50 miles from Laura’s place. It is now nestled elsewhere in the post. Laura’s house is now the lead photo.

Great prep list for people too used to the mild winter weather we’ve had the last few years. Well, I do live in North Carolina, but truly, we’ve had years of mild winters….2010 is unusual….snow on the ground here for a whole month…..and more forecast for today.
But really, I wonder how Mom thought the mail would even get to her post office with roads closed etc. And it’s been decades since we had a postal system that depended on people like Mom. Though I recognize she is one of the old school, folks who feel they matter and what they do is important. They are treasures beyond measure. I hope they got home safely.
