Since riders were overcharged by $ 8.3 MM, did the TLC fined the taxi companies $ 8.3 MM? Did they suspended the license of any taxi companies? Did they fined any taxi drivers? Did they supsended any taxi drivers?

If there were no fines and/or suspensions, these taxi companies and taxi drivers are laughing themselves to the bank. Without penalities, what did they learn? I can cheat my customers and still continue to do business as normal.

Las Vegas cabbies drive on THE STRIP instead of parallel streets. The Strip has VERY long red lights so the meter keeps running.

Maybe they should do the same in Las Vegas. I read somewhere that taxi drivers know the shortest route to the strip from the airport but taxi drivers always take the roundabout way to get the most fare.
