What’s your travel “mood?” One expert, Andy Whitlock, has built a series of Web sites that suggest what you can do based on the way you’re feeling at the moment.
You can choose naughty, hungover, energetic, romantic, sophisticated, chilly, girly, manly — or broke.
When you click on any of the moods, the various places to go are overlaid on a map. Clicking on one of the icons will give you a description and you can get directions.
For example, if you are broke in New York, you can go to Governors Island by ferry (it’s free) and go biking or skating, or you can have a barbecue in Prospect Park. You can also go to the Crocodile Lounge for cheap beer and a slice of pizza.
The site is still in beta — meaning that it’s not quite ready for prime time — but you can sign up to get notified when the site formally goes live. Anyone with a Google account can get an invitation to edit the maps so you can add more places.
