Detroit will not be dropped as a hub, its become the primary gateway to Asia for Delta. Minneapolis and Memphis and Cincinnati will be eliminated first.

In NO way is Detroit in trouble! Minneapolis/St. Paul will go before Detroit does. Delta has named Detroit a major hub. I think either Memphis/Cincinnati or both will be dropped, and then Minneapolis will eventually be dropped too.

While trying to get a SKY Miles Award ticket, the only ones with reasonable time/mileage requirement have the return flights routed by Northwast through Detroit. Since I live in Northeast Florida, this is not a good choice. The only way to get Atlanta of Cincinnati is to pony up 200,000 miles.
This was not so until the merge was complete. Lessons learned. I have no interest in going to Detroit in winter weather, and the winter there is l o o n g.
Another issue - since the merge the Customer Service has been no existant for the most part. 5 e-mail brought one response. And that may have been the result of snalil mail addressed to CEO at the corporate office invAtlanta!
