Today, being a “connected” hotel means a lot more than offering Wi-Fi in each room. Some hotels are really upping the ante with everything from iris-scanning technology to Guitar Hero tournaments. Today Show Travel Editor Peter Greenberg gives us a rundown of what’s out there. Here’s an abridged list of what he found:
- The Cloud Nine Penthouse suite at the Nine Zero hotel in Boston requires no metal key or plastic keycard… it uses an iris-scanner to unlock the door
- The Hotel Monaco in Seattle hosts Guitar Hero III tournaments on Fridays
- Hotel Sax in Chicago has partnered with Microsoft to offer “The Studio — A Microsoft Experience” — an entertainment lounge for guests to play Xbox games, work on HP laptops and download and listen to music.
