Gotta “luv” it! Singing Southwest Airlines flight attendants: the collection

by Charlie Leocha on March 18, 2009

Some airlines still know how to make the flying experience as enjoyable as possible. Southwest is probably the king of the industry when it comes to making passengers feel like they got a good deal and doing their best to make everyone feel good about flying with them. And sometimes they sing.

I’ve heard that several Southwest flight attendants actually sing on the flights. The opportunity to hear one of them in person hasn’t come my way, but I went to YouTube in search of singing flight attendant videos and here are the best I found.

Anyone who has flown has gotta love these clever and different ways to communicate with the passengers. We start out with a Rappin’ Flight Attendant.

Here is a Southwest flight attendant with a country and western welcome to the passengers.

Here’s a Jingle Bells version that appears to have been caught on a passenger’s cell phone.

Here is another video that takes a bit of patience (about a minute or so) until the singing begins when a flight attendant sings “We Give You Peanuts.”

Finally,

Unless you’re elderly or someone who cant stand for long periods of time by their silly poles, waiting to board.

Being one of those people who cannot stand for a long time, I sit near by assigned spot. At the last minute, I jump up, grab my assigned spot in line, and board the plane. No problem.

When I had serious health issues, I would notify the helpful gate attendants, and they would hand me a blue boarding card which would allow me to preboard the plane.

When I am forced to fly the legacy airlines, you have to wait in a much longer line for a much longer time than Southwest,

Dave is right. You will not hear this on United. We can also rest assured that the skies are much friendlier (as a rule) on SWA than on most other USA airlines.

In the past I’ve happily paid $100 more for a ticket to stay OFF Southwest, but now that the price disparity is closing in on $300, I’ve been flying the “too friendly” skies. The flight attendants’ artificial perkiness annoys me to the max. I’d much rather deal with someone who’s honestly grumpy than these saccharine sweehearts. And please don’t sing — the rhyme is bad and the voices are worse.

How nice that you can find a seat near those poles, everytime. Not to mention fellow passengers who dont think you just cut in line.
