He’s the FORMER CEO of AA for a reason, so of course he would take the job. He’s retired, nominally a CEO in charge of an airline related startup and sits on the board of another.

But the short version is, unless you can get someone who is retired and already wealthy, no one like that will TAKE a job like running the TSA. For the salary you get, the stress level and constant battering is just not worth it.

“Hire someone qualified with experience running large organizations”

Well, we didn’t elect a “President” with that experience, so why should we think they’d put someone like that in any government job.

Government jobs (outside the military) are populated by career bureaucrats with little or no real world experience.
