Even the agents are limited to telling you what their system displays, which also is NOT always current. I know this from having dealt with delayed flights more than once.

I worked RES, Flifo was for the most part timely and if it wasnt a supervisor could find out. Maybe I would use both. A website (Flightaware) and the airline to confirm departures, arrivals and delays.

Calling the airline does NOT always get you the correct information, especially the automated information which is not updated continuously. Even the agents are limited to telling you what their system displays, which also is NOT always current. I know this from having dealt with delayed flights more than once. I think Flightaware.com is pretty accurate compared to other tracking sites I'v\e used.

This is a story about how current flight status reports don’t always tell the whole story. In this case the US Air site was misleading and even FlightStats.com reported conflicting information.
===========================================================

Does anyone ever call the airlines anymore? Wouldnt a quick call to Reservations provide REAL TIME "flight tracking" information?

Ahah! There was flight 1046 listed as delayed with a projected time of departure of around 7 p.m. Eventually, the US Air flight status showed that the flight status was “departed” at 7:17 p.m.

"Departure time" was 7pm. It "departed" at 7:17pm. What is needed is a TAKE OFF TIME.
