Calling the travel agent is a good idea, if....and this has been a big IF many times for me, the agent is open for business. Trying to deal with a schedule change in Houston, TX @ 0700, when my agent is in SanFrancisco isn't any fun.

I have a different solution, call your travel agent. You know, the person who can and will be able to see all the options and advise you accordingly. Sure, you may have had to pay a fee at the start of your trip but I'm sure that after standing in line for an hour, only to be told that the only option is tomorrow, that fee will sure look like a great deal. Oh, you booked directly with the airline or one of the online ticketing companies, hmmm, well, then you are on your own. Have fun in line.

On the other hand, if you accept the computer option, you could potentially be missing out on some seriously potential better options. (This is another of many situations, where, if you have a travel agent and a cell phone, it’s a good idea to call them.)
====================================================

I understand how this "Lanebuster" may have issues, but isnt it good that United is proactive in providing ADDITIONAL service, in addition to waiting in line, calling reservations OR using a travel agent? I would think one of the BIGGEST COMPLAINTS for travelers is that line, that LONG LINE when a flight is canceled or everyone misconnects due to weather. I walk by those lines all the time and think, how horrible, the frustration, the interruption to one's day only to have to wait in line. Everyone hates lines.
