Consumer Report ranks top everyday gripes — #1 is hidden fees

In the just-released January 2010 issue of Consumer Reports features a study titled, Top gripes: What bugs America most. Leading the list are hidden fees, a favorite of the airlines.

The next everyday annoyance on the list was difficulty reaching a human when calling about bills or for service. Hidden fees have also prompted Sen. Menendez (D-NJ) to file a bill yesterday, the Clear Airfares Act, mandating that airlines make their fees clear prior to purchase of any airline tickets.
