When I started my career on Wall Street back in 1992, one of the first things I learned is that even dead cats bounce. In other words, ailing companies sometimes twitch as they are breathing their last, leaving you with the impression they’re still alive.
But is this a bounce … or a bottom?
United sure looks bouncy to me.
Airline stocks have taken a beating in the last few months. High fuel prices. Irrational downsizing. The specter of inevitable re-regulation.
What a ride it’s been.
I hope this is the bottom, but no one knows. No one can know.
Respect to TechCruch for the idea.
