At the ABA Forum on Air and Space Law held in Montreal, Canada, last week, a speaker presented a chart he had prepared showing the differences in the value of a life based on where the court case is held after an airline disaster. The results are amazing.

How much is elite status worth? If you stick to one airline, it’s not as much as you think

How is elite status going to save anyone any money? Doesn’t elite status just get you those first class upgrades and priority boarding? The answer to that question is a bold, NO. While the airlines have been quietly doing away with many benefits of flying and making it more difficult for the average flier, they they are coddling their elites.

Traveling in your own backyard

Your next flight is liable to be canceled or delayed, and the price of airline tickets seems to go up every month. Gasoline prices are off the chart and so are hotel rates. Tim Leffel says this might be a good summer to make your family’s summer vacation a local affair.
