This last weekend, British Airways flight attendants went on strike to protest … well, I’m not sure. But it was serious enough for them to sit out three days over the weekend and plan another four days at the end of this week. Last month Lufthansa pilots went on strike for a day. Greek and French air traffic controllers also joined the picket lines.
These days, even the most hard-core fans of airline paper tickets have largely gotten used to the idea of e-tickets. Many don’t even bother bringing the receipts or itineraries with them to the airport.
Getting membership in United Global Services level of frequent flier program is a bit of a mystery. The airline keeps its membership requirements close to their vest, and gears it to only reward those who fly on full fare tickets. In other words, all flown miles aren’t the same anymore with United.
