Maybe in the name of all that’s decent and good, ATA and APA could donate that collective $2 million of promised reward money for killing bin Laden to a couple of veteran’s groups. It just sorta feels right.

Many travelers assert that TSA doesn’t have the authority to require travelers show their IDs to confirm their identity to TSA in order to be able to fly commercial airlines. Ned Levi has reviewed TSA’s ID requirements and whether or not TSA has the legal authority, explains why he believes they are nothing more than security theater, and don’t make us safer.

We take a look at the effects of the antitrust immunity grant to AA and BA/IB. The joint venture will start a virtual shuttle between the US and UK. We have a job opening for you! Head of the TSA! Apply now! What traveler wouldn’t want this job? You get to bust terrorists (the goofballs responsible for that two hour wait to get on the plane and the numerous invasions of privacy) and give some pushback to the airlines (the goofballs that raise and lower fares more times than the flag outside that Capitol, charge you for everything but breathing in the cabin, and keep you stuck on the tarmac without so much as a peanut for 11 hours straight).

Few decisions have irritated the air traveling public more than the mandate to limit the carrying of liquids on airplanes instituted in late 2006. Complaints have raged since then, coming from passengers and pundits alike. The opening of the terrorist trial yesterday in London is sobering.
