Pets have minimum standards of space, water and food when flying on airlines. Shouldn’t passengers get some kind of similar minimum standards. We don’t even get the pitch galley slaves had in Roman days or the seat width prisoners being shipped to Australia were provided.

When booking a flight, does it matter to most passengers where they sit? According to a recent survey, it matters — a lot — to most travelers. In a poll with over 10,000 respondents in 13 countries, two-thirds of air travelers have a strong seat preference.
