Here is a fun list of restaurants with great views. By no means is this list comprehensive, nor would I rank these the “best.” But, these restaurants do have great views. I have dined at two of them over the years — the Edgewood Restaurant on Lake Tahoe and Seven Glaciers in Alyeska, Alaska. They both certainly have great views.

This appeals to me from my days as Cheap Charlie. These Gut-busters were listed by couponsherpa.com. In fact they list 40 of these eating contests. I’m not sure whether I’m up to the challenge, but just reading about them is fun. And if you are in the neighborhood, visiting one of these spots might be a good time.

Welcome to Vietnam. It’s a long trip from the U.S. If you’re not accustomed to Asian culture, it can cause culture shock. Many travelers would be well advised to join a tour group. But if you decide to come, you’ll leave learning a lot, the least of which having more of an insight into an important part of history.

With so much information easily accessible on the Internet, most travelers are still clueless about tipping. Many forget to note is how much they should tip and to whom? If you’re on a tour or a cruise, travelers receive guidelines and some of the tips are automatic. But, for travelers on their own, a sense of local tipping rules are need-to-know facts. Otherwise, travelers may come away leaving locals with the impression that they’re rude, condescending or stupid tourists.

Eating at a restaurant should be a positive experience. But is it? After all, it’s the time when someone else shops, cooks, serves you what (you think) you’ve ordered and takes away the dishes and glasses to a mysterious place. Best of all, you’re not responsible for washing them. In spite of these definite pluses, people appear to have more gripes than you’d think. And they make no bones about voicing them.

When you’re taking a trip, whether it’s business or pleasure, what foods to you want to see at the first meal of the day? There’s a reason, it’s called break fast.

Do you prefer buffets over menus? How much time do you usually allot? Do you eat and run or do you find it’s a good time to conduct business?

If you’re a betting type, more than likely you’d wager people in France wouldn’t adhere to the smoking ban in restaurants and in hotels. Guess what. You’d be wrong. On top of that, it appears no one has an ounce of sympathy for the addicted. Do you? Have you ever checked into a non-smoking room and smelled stale cigarette buts? If so, what did you do when the front desk clerk told you there were no more rooms?
