I was thrilled when I heard that a coalition of travel professionals was meeting in Washington for a what they called a “stakeholder hearing” on passenger rights. Finally, after years of virtually no representation in the nation’s capital, passengers appeared to be organizing.

Is the timing right for Congress to debate an Airline Passengers’ Bill of Rights? Our airline customer service specialist David Burns doesn’t think so. It seems that Congress’ plate is full of other crises at the moment.

Monday, July 28, was not a fun day to be an airline passenger departing from virtually anywhere in the northeastern U.S. So much so, that some of the long airline delays even made news headlines, as in the case of from JFK to Las Vegas.
