Many travelers are taking high quality camera gear while traveling including tripods. While tripods aren’t prohibited by TSA from carry-on, into airplane cabins, sometimes TSA agents and airline gate agents have refused to permit them into the airplane cabin. Ned Levi updates the tripod situation for air travelers and suggests how to take a tripod while traveling.
Many travelers assert that TSA doesn’t have the authority to require travelers show their IDs to confirm their identity to TSA in order to be able to fly commercial airlines.
