The US airlines are saying that they need to raise fees to make a profit. In the meantime, the employees on the front lines have to do with less benefits and pay cuts while their CEOs make millions. Maybe it’s time they took a cue from Japan Airlines’ President and CEO Haruka Nishimatsu.

The CEO of Delta received total compensation valued at nearly $11.3 million for the four months he ran the nation’s third-largest carrier in 2007!!!

Pilots have had their pay slashed. Virtually all airline workers have had their pensions stripped, medical coverage sliced and salaries diced. Stockholders were sore-out-of-luck. Bond holders got pennies on their dollars. Passengers have seen service crumble. One might think that the airline CEOs should bear some responsibility. Evidently not.
