Ned Levi has surveyed the state of the commercial airline industry in light of a year of serious security and service failures. To combat those problems Ned has suggested New Year’s resolutions for the government and the airlines.

These eight tips come from Siemens, a German conglomerate that builds and operates some of the world’s largest baggage handling systems. Their operations will be going at full tilt during the upcoming holiday season. If you are traveling through terminals at New York JFK, Chicago O’Hare, Miami, Munich or LAX then your baggage may be being handled by their systems.

Apparently, the cost of transporting a piece of luggage is … $15. At least that’s according to research done by The Wall Street Journal. The kicker? The second and third piece of luggage costs exactly the same.
