I prefer Google Maps over mapquest and for weather, I start with Accuweather followed by Intellicast. I also receive all travel warnings via email (travel.state.gov). Outside of that, I access the same sites as John & Stephen.

For destination weather, I use Accu Weather. I also use the ForecastFox (which uses Accu Weather) extension of my Firefox browser which I set to show the weather of places I'm soon to visit. For seating I too use SeatGuru, but I also take a look at SeatExpert which sometimes has useful additional information not found on SeatGuru, especially with non-US based airlines. There's another good seating site called Seating Plans which takes you to the airlines own information on their seating. Finally, there's LoveMySeat which has good information for choosing your seating. If I have a question about TSA prohibited items this page is where to go. For live flight tracking I use Flight Aware, now that Cheap Tickets seems to have dropped their tracker. Finally, I get the Internet on my cell phone. I travel all over the world with my cell phone, which is GSM based. I have a program on my cell phone called WorldMate. Using WorldMate I can get up to the minute Currency Conversion, Weather Information for most major cities throughout the world, and Flight Status. I highly recommend this product. |

For recommendations on hotel rooms and attractions (especially in far flung locations) I rely heavily on tripadvisor.com. I almost never book a hotel before going there to see how various properties stack up. Yes, you do have to wade through some off-base reviews, but the sheer breadth of comments means you usually know what you are getting.
For car rental comparisons, I like the ease of travelocity's site, which also gives you a total price including taxes and fees. There is another site I read every day. I think its called...tripso? |

For airline info, I go to that particular airline's website. For airport information, I use www.ifly.com, or the airport's website.

Unless I am traveling to a city that I have never been before and there are no direct flights from PHX to it on America West/US Airways, I will use Orbitz to see which airlines fly into the city and etc. then I will go directly to the airline's website.
In regards to hotels, I will go directly to the Marriott, Hilton or Intercontinental website. If I have never been to that city and/or hotel before, I will go to tripadvisor website and/or epinion website to look for reviews with tripadvisor being my primary website for hotel reviews. Sometimes, I will read the hotel reviews on the Orbitz website. In regards to car rental, I go directly to the Hertz website. They may not be the cheapest but as an elite member with them, the free upgrades that I receive more than compensate the extra few dollars that I might spend as well as preferential treatment. In regards to the weather, I go to the weather channel, www.weather.com. If I don’t have a GPS in my rental or I want to have a back up if the GPS goes down, I use Mapquest for directions. In regards to maps, I use Mapquest and Google Earth. If you are traveling to a large metropolitan area, you can usually see the actual buildings and etc. on Google Earth. For seating, I use SeatGuru. If I have a question about TSA prohibited items, I will go to the TSA website. If I want to check information on a particular airport, I usually go to their website to check out where the concourses located, how to travel between the concourses, baggage claim, rental car and etc. Of course, I go to Tripso every day to read the daily newsletter and postings in the forums. |

I love WHO. I think it is funny to read headlines like
WHO says bird flu is a threat Director of WHO says that SARS is contained Sounds like a deleted scene from How THe Grinch Stole Christmas!

Or the time that the Director General of WHO was the initial speaker at a convention and the headline read:
WHO's on First |
