I, we (my wife) love cruises. We enjoy being aboard the ships, getting off to take wonderful excursions, and returning to that luxury floating hotel at the end of a tiring day exploring some port. We've cruised the Caribbean and had a fabulous time doing it. My wife and I try to take a cruise at least once every other year.
We also have flown to a number of Caribbean islands for a week's stay and had a great time on that kind of vacation too. Visiting Aruba, for example, is a great joy which we try to do as often as we can. I've just finished reading an MSNBC.com article Exotic indulgences Spoil yourself with true Caribbean pampering which discusses three state-of-the art Caribbean spas -- opulent Four Seasons Emerald Bay, sybaritic Mandarin Oriental Elbow Beach and cutting-edge Blue at Carlisle Bay. These spas sound incredible. You could really indulge yourself at one of these places. A week's pricing isn't much different than a week's cruise in a luxury level stateroom on one of the top cruiselines like Crystal or Celebrity or Radisson. So, what's your preference, cruise or spa? Why? |

I voted neither. Plunk me on an island. Spa not necessary.

I choose the spa; I am sick of cruising!

I guess I'm the only cruise vote so far. I like to be fairly active when I travel and see new things. It's nice when your "resort" takes you somewhere new to explore about every other day. There's still plenty of time on the ship to relax and have someone fling mud in your face for $100 a handful. ![]() |

Wahawahwah...
![]() I love cruising, but I like variety, ya know, spice things up a bit. Woo hoo! My favorite vacations are renting houses in Maine and the Bahamas. Just chillin' with the family. Anita |

I went with the cruise, but I have never had a spa treatment and there is really no interest in one.
The cruising offers a bit more excitement and variety than a resort--in my opinion. I have done some resorts and after three days or so I become bored. With a cruise, although it probably is not of the same caliber, there is a variety of entertainment and things to do, and of course you are in a different location each day.

I voted for "Cruise", and echo jfrenaye's statements.

The spa really doesn't interest us (and there is always a quite good spa on board a luxury line ).We are booked on Silversea for late October, so I guess I put my $$ where my mouth is |

I voted cruise. On each of my cruises, I make one of the days a spa day, so I get the best of both worlds.
