Borg sighted at Heinz Wildlife Refuge?

Over the weekend I spent several hours at the Heinz Wildlife Refuge, located in Philadelphia, near Philadelphia International Airport, with very nice bird-walk group.

Most of the birds seemed to be hiding in trees and shrubs to beat the heat, but we did encounter a possible sub-species of homo-sapien. It was strange as they seemed to have some kind of optical device growing out of their eyes every time we saw them. Maybe they're actually Borg!

We did see a particularly amazing grouping of swallows. In the below photo you can see 6 swallows in their habitat. From left to right they are a Tree Swallow, Tree Swallow, Rough Winged Swallow, Barn Swallow, Barn Swallow, Barn Swallow.

I carried my iPhone with me, which has the Audubon North American Bird Guide in it, complete with bird calls we can play back to help us identify the birds and what we hear, but nothing I observed was actually growing out of ears. We really make an effort to not use our cell phones during our walks and normally turn off our ringers, unless we're expecting a possible emergency call.

Yes, definitely Borg

I like this wildlife parks and I always just take a walk there and enjoy nature and the animals if I see some. It's difficult for me to understand these fanatics with books, guides and binoculars that stand on the same spot for hours just to see a certain bird or butterfly - and they don't even care if the animal doesn't show up ...
