I read both the US and International survey results.
In regards to the best airports, it listed Denver and Detroit as # 2 and # 5. I must disagree with the people that 'voted' Denver and Detroit as the top airports. In regards to the international carriers, I agree with the ratings based upon my experiences. |

I imagine Detroit got the votes for the McNamera Terminal which I do think is a great facility. Unless you are using Northwest, you probably won't see it and may have a different experience. I'd certainly say it's one of the most improved facilities in this country.

I second Zagat's rating of Midwest. Sadly, the airline buyout that resulted in NWA acquiring a piece of Midwest may only postpone the inevitable...AirTran was going to scrap Signature Service had they been successful in forcing a merger, and down the line Midwest might do that anyway. They are already removing a few rows of Signature Service and replacing them with Saver Service (2 x 3 with more legroom) on 717s, although on MD-8x aircraft they are replacing the first few rows of Saver with Signature seats.
I'll enjoy it while it lasts. Regarding DTW, I concur with Deano about McNamara Terminal. I wish it had more "mainline" shops, but there is a pretty good variety of shops to while away the time, two security points to avoid a jam at one spot, and people movers to get people from one end of the terminal to another. The NWA WorldClub in that terminal is excellent, too.

The results of the Zagat/Today Show Airline Survey are in, confirming that the industry is continuing its steep descent in the eyes of the flying public. Read on for full survey results – from the best economy-class carrier to the most consistently delayed airline to the worst major U.S. airport – plus a list of outtakes.
