I just saw a PSA on TV that was done by Tom Bergeron and my first thought was "Hmmm, wonder why he's doing a PSA... I wonder what he did...."

Sad but true, my first reaction now when I see a star doing a PSA is that it's community service for something they did.

Does that happen to anyone else?

On a similar note, I just saw Susan Sarandon promoting this weekend's sale for Macy's. My first thought was WHY?

Come on B., you know the answer: money, boodle, casheroo, clams, dinero, gelt, kale, lettuce, lolly, lucre, moolah, pelf, shekels, simoleons, wampum, loot, dough, bread, cabbage, sugar, scratch, "big bucks." I've come to the conclusion, the more you have, the more you think you need.

Martha Stewart is the poster child for "the more you have, the more you think you need." Why else would someone that wealthy ($1,000,000,000 - yes $1 Billion net worth) risk her entire "empire" and wealth, and freedom, for a measily $45,673 through an illegal stock sale.

Well of course, but I still wonder why, money aside, she stooped so low to go hawking for a department store? It think it is sad and the commerical is really bad and boring.

Macy*s is giving to some charity that Sarandon supports. Can't remember which. Didn't pay much attention as we don't live very close to a Macy*s anymore... That card's not getting such a work out anymore!

I don't think that's as sad as the advertisement for Geico "starring" Burt Bacharach who looks horrible, and acts as if his mind is long gone. That's sad! I hope he needs the money to be put up there like that.

Well you are about to. As you know Marshall Fields gobbled up our Hudson's stores but Macy's has now gobbled up Marshall's. They should be changing the signs at a mall near you any day now.

Note that on the Macy's commercials the caption at the bottom says "Susan Sarandon: Actor and Philanthropist." That's the gig for the sale she's advertising.

Burt Bacharach and Charo (separately) did a radio commercial for GEICO here in LA.

They're national commercials. Little Richard's in one too. His is the only one which is decent, in my opinion.

Peter Graves... Man, has that guy aged! Charo, on the other hand, must be having preservatives pumped in...
