OK, there are a bunch of people from the Mid-Atlantic here. I happen to think Ehrlich did a decent job with what he had to work with--a legislature that was hell bent on insuring his failure!

He has my vote in November!

(boy, how is that for going out on a limb)

Mine too -- and I also would like to add that after Steele's comments, that he later tried to laugh off about how he was embarassed to be associated with his party and felt they were a liability, I'm glad he has a different running mate.

Just now looking at this-You actually think he did a decent job? This is the man who all he really wanted to do is to make casinos, increase college tuition and kill the 350 black bears that we have left here. I am not sure about this one JF.

And KKT would have done what?

And O'Malley has done what for Baltimore? America's best looking mayor, increase in crime, decrease in the quality of schools. But hey, he has a decent band.

Question for you if this is what you believe, isnt this also the fault of the Governor of the state? Or is that only Louisiana that all take the blame? I have seen where the murder rate has gone down and there were some questionable things going on with that.

Well the elections in Virginia are interesting but if I was in MD, I think I would have to go with O'Malley.

Considering the hostile General Assembly Ehrlich had to deal with for 4 years, I think he's done an outstanding job. I'm voting for him again.

OH come on Green....they were NEVER talking about Casinos. All the legislation proposed was about slot machines. And for the most part it was in areas that already had a form of gambling--the race tracks. They also were considering some rest stops and a few other venues as well.

The issue is that if you go to Charlestown, Dover, or any of the neighboring states that have slots at the tracks, you will see a huge population of MD cars. So, our citizens (or a decent number of them) want gambling and are willing to go to another state to get their fix. The other state gets the taxes on our losses (tracks gains).

We have a LOT of issues in this state from education to senior care and the revenue generated can go a LONG way to alleviate some of those problems.

We already have the lottery, keno at most bars, and horse betting at the tracks. We are snoozing while the likes of WV, DE, PA, and NJ are reaping the rewards courtesy of MD.

Maybe the windfall could do something to offset the impending rate hike for BGE. What a sham that was...oh ****, let's do somethign so they will forget about it till after election day!
