preorder special meal on airplanes

An uneaten meals on airplanes aren't discarded.



They are either kept on the same plane for about four days until eaten, or "traded" to another plane for something else.



I learned a long time ago that even if you don't have any special dietary needs, always preorder a "special" meal. It assures you will get a freshly-prepared one. Order vegan, seafood, vegetarian - whatever; directly order with the airline at least 24 hours before departure time.

Where is your proof? The catering companies are inspected rigorously.

I'll agree John.

Not that I've flown an airline which has served any food lately, but I always see the catering carts swapped in between flights.
