I have checked all over the web and cannot get a flight to Vegas from Boston/Providence/Hartford/Manchester (NH) within a reasonable price. I plan on flying Oct. 6 through the 9th. I'm willing to do the red-eye on the 9th to be home on the 10th. I guess what bothers me the most, it is cheaper for me to fly to London, San Diego, or Bermuda for those dates than fly to Vegas! Please tell me I can find a sub $300 flight for reasonable flights...

I was going to purchase a package deal, but I haven't seen them at a reasonable price for individuals.

The lowest I see from Boston is $409 on USAir. The problem with the low cost carriers, such as Southwest, is they are full and no highly discounted seats are available. Playing around with Southwest, I can get a fare of $214 but the dates are quite different from what you are looking for. If you can find something under $300, grab it!

There are no huge conventions during that time, looks like about 25,000 attendance in total so that shouldn't be a factor.
There are however some shows/events that might be impacting flight availability.

What do you consider a "reasonable" price for a package (air and hotel?)?

Also check with the airlines or your travel agents for vacation packages. They usually have combo packages. I did that once with my dad and we saved a ton.

First of all, a reasonable package amount for staying at either the Luxor or Mandalay Bay is about $750 with air from Boston. My brother and I are going out there for a Sumo tourney that weekend. My brother will ONLY fly on USAir. So, that really screws us up as I don't make nearly as much as him and will fly the cheapest route. He also insists on staying at one of the two hotels I mentioned. So, as you can see, a package deal will not work with only one flying unless USAir is the carrier.

Finding air under $300 would be a steal at this point.

Is US Airways the only carrier you're willing to fly on? If not, submit a bid to Priceline.

Well, considering thats Columbus Day weekend, everyone is taking advantage of the long weekend. I would therefore assume that "reasonable" pricing will be higher.

If you're only looking for flights, Southwest do BOS to Vegas (sorry can't remember the code) for $25-=$300

Read above: the Southwest flights are sold out in the discount classes.

My brother went to a travel agent and set this trip up for us. USAir and Mandalay Bay for $625 for three nights. It's not my ideal flight back home, but it does the trick. I may see if I can get a red-eye flight to Ottawa from Vegas on the 9th/10th, instead of flying back to Boston and driving 7 hours to Ottawa that same day. I'm sure this will cost me a lot more. Flying to Ottawa from Boston would be ideal though.
