View Full Version : Are you happy?

12-06-2007, 10:35 AM

Right, I'm Matt, and I am currently undertaking a project/experiment thing concerning happiness. Essentially, for the next 100 days, anything that would make you genuinely happy, I will do. Any suggestions you have, be they serious or spectacular or ridiculous or weird or embarrassing or mental; anything that will make you happy, I will do.

It'd make you happy if I spelt out your name in cereal in Trafalgar Square? No worries mate, I'm on it. You want to know what actually happens if you eat Mentos then drink Coke? Fine, if it'll make you happy, I'll do so in a jiffy. You'd be happy if you want to meet up in Starbucks, or you want me to go a day solely eating bacon, or you'd like to see me stuff my shirt with garbage and roll in some raccoons? Then yes, yes, yes; say I, I will do ANYTHING!

So how d'you send me your suggestion? Couldn't be easier - simply drop me a mail at [email protected] . I mean, why not? You're sitting there at your computer now, with the power to make me do whatever you want in the name of happiness at your fingertips. In just a click of a button you could be made genuinely happy!

Although I'd prefer all suggestions sent through e-mail, I'll also do any suggestions sent through PM or left here on the forum comments, although unlike mail there's no guarantee ideas won't go get lost, deleted, forgotten, etc. I've got a wee youtube video, check out - http://youtube.com/watch?v=fYapbkFTaP8 , a blog doing the rounds at http://makingothershappy.blogspot.com , and even my very own forum at http://makeothershappy.proboards91.com . My antics have even made the papers as you can see here - http://www.getreading.co.uk/news/2017/2017379/have_a_hug_and_be_happy .

Go on. Live a little. I'm not a spammer - I'm just a regular joe intent on making strangers happy, and I open the gauntlet to all ideas far and wide... Think what act of whimsy or foolishness might cheer you up, let me know at [email protected] , and watch your crazed suggestion come to life!

Deano -- really :D

Believe me, this is not my party. I don't necessarily want to make anyone happy.

I am not very interested in a total stranger "making me happy" unless it IS you, dean boy.:p

Marge - I can't tell you the countless times Deano has made me happy-o

I'll come to the defence of this Deano character who seems to be coming under fire and say no, I'm not him. If you have a poke about the videos and whatnot you'll see that to be the case, unless I look exactly like Deano, which'd be a bit weird.

Anyways, now thats sorted up, who can I make happy?

Thanks for defending that scoundrel Deano, Matt. He actually makes us all happy here with his sunny disposition and humor.

Say, Matt, I see you're in the UK, but are you from the UK?

Well yes.. they're the same thing surely. I live in a grotty little town near London and if you watch those youtube videos of mine you'll find a distinct UK accent. So yeah, I am from the UK.

No, not the same. Not that it matters, but the way your original post reads it sounds somewhat Aussie. Hence my question.

Just debunking some cultural stereotypes!! Stick around, we can always use another person who makes us laugh!

And isn't it getting late for you?
