Thanks for sharing this info--good stuff! This is true in a lot of places, including the U.S.. If people get off the well-worn paths, they can taste some great wine in interesting surroundings--without the huge crowds.

		<description>There are areas of wine-making in Italy which are very little knows abroad and far less expensive than Piedmont or Tuscany.

I&#039;m thinking specifically of Lomellina, the lower part of Lumbardy, which is renowed for its sparkling white wines, Calabria, in the South of the country, which is experiencing a renaissance in wine-making, and even Emilia-Romagna which produces the original Sangiovese, a fabolous &quot;family-friendly&quot; wine. 
All very nice places, also.</description>
