The rim of the Canyon was rimed with ice and snow like a Margarita, it was just beautiful! We had the place almost to ourselves. One day we had breakfast in the Angel Lodge and there were only 2 other tables taken. We also got our choice of rooms, not common during the summer months. Another bonus is that there's much more wildlife running around to look at. I always highly recommend that folks try to see the Canyon in all the seasons, but winter is actually my favorite. The first time that I visited the Grand Canyon was in the winter. If you have a young child or young children, you can take them on the Polar Express on the Grand Canyon Railway (departing from Williams, AZ) from November to Janauary. Tickets for the Polar Express train ride (there is a 6:30 PM train and 8:30 PM train) sell out very quickly (it is quickly that some dates are sold out by August) so advanced reservations\purchases is strongly recommended.
