Carolyn, travel insurance coverage is supposed to protect you from carrier default. If you purchase your insurance FROM the carrier, who protects you from THEM?
Please, folks, buy your insurance from an insurance agent. I don't go to the gynocologist when I have an ear ache.

FYI: Think twice before booking a Holland America trip!
Holland America's insurance does not cover much. Even their platinum coverage will not cover cancellation fees that are labeled service fees. Example: custom air fee. If you cancel before final payment and purchased insurance, the insurance is non-refundable - but the custom air fee is not insurable because the cancellation was made before final payment was due. According the HAL rep: If the cancellation was made after final payment then all non-refundable fees would be insurable. HAL requires the insurance be paid upfront but calls the custom fee a service fee - therefore not refundable. While $75 isn't a huge amount, when added to the $259 insurance - the total is fairly large for a cancellation way before final payment was due.

3. Be opinionated

Don’t be shy about telling your audience what you think about a particular travel product or experience. Feedback — both positive and negative —
========================================================

Key: Be balanced. Tons of sites tend to be negative only. This site was started over 10 years ago: http://www.untied.com/
Criticism tends to get OLD HAT, just like this site did.
