I proud to state that I have received training with several companies. The first thing I review is the policy and how it benefits my clients and not the commission paid. The first thing I hear from so call travel agents is "What the commission". My impression is that only interest is the money not the clients. There is no doubt that they are so despite to make the buck. They really don't take the time nor care about asking the critical questions.

I would also recommend you check your local Better Business Bureau for a trustworthy agency (I hate comparison websites), and make sure your policy includes a "free look period" . The actual policy you receive will give a much more detalied description of benefits than the brochure. So when you get your actual policy, carefully review everything, and if you are not satisfied, a reputable company will let you cancel your plan without penalty within a certain number of days of purchase.

I agree with George Fredrickson - the Travel Agent/Agency as well as the Insurance "Company" should be held responsible.

We vet all Vendors we work with very carefully and I have to say that all three agencies I've been with over the years have done so. there is no excuse for those Florida agencies not knowing what the relative condition of the insurer was.
