Legendary weddings at The Buccaneer, St Croix, offer free return stay

The wedding of your dreams just got better! Couples opting to have their wedding at The Buccaneer can earn a return stay for themselves when their friends and family join them. With as little as 20 rooms staying for three nights, the bride and groom will return to The Buccaneer for their anniversary or any other occasion for the same number of nights they stayed to get married. For details, see http://www.thebuccaneer.com/weddings.htm.

Excellent article on continuing to travel with the challenges of age-related illness. I heartily second Cherie's comments about Med Jet Assist. The reasonable yearly membership buys tremendous peace of mind.

Dear Mary Anne

I am glad to hear you were able to take your trip and had a wonderful time.

As a Travel Agent you hit the hammer on the head of the nail in regards to advising the Traveling Public about Trip Cancellation and Medical Insurance.

The reason at least Travel Guard requires a 14 day purchase after the initial deposit payment, is to cover pre-existing illness, for the traveler and this extended to immediate family members. This you also pointed out. As long as you are able to travel at the time of the reservation process, I am fairly confident, the pre-existing illness is part of the coverage.

The unfortunate part of the pricing of the insurance is that it is based upon the total cost of the trip and the age of the passenger. The higher the cost of the trip and the higher age, the insurance amount reflects this. This new pricing formula came about after 9/11.

As Cherie mentioned you might also check into Medjet. This is an excellent coverage policy.

I cannot tell you how resistant people can be in taking the insurance. They feel it is part of the nickel and dimming process, until something actually happens to them or someone close to them.

An excellent article, and I do hope more people read it.

I wish you and your husband a long and exciting life together

Good info. Cunard also has the largest morgues afloat followed closely by Holland America. Just a more macabre fact that people do not like to think about!

Yes, especially if you have a health condition, you should invest the relatively small amount in to travel insurance. If nothing else, it takes the pressure off the months before.
