I like to fly in one day to four days early when we go a cruise or land tour. I don't understand why so people want to risk the chance of missing their cruise or land tour by flying in on the day of departure...then not buying travel insurance to cover their trip.

You might not enjoy your trip fully, if it is not planned properly. You need to be really careful even while selecting the travel package or the hotel you rent a room at. On most of the tourist spots there are a lot of scammers trying to get some money out of you. I think hiring a local guide through the travel agency might be useful sometimes.

"Travelocity tried to help Adenuga, to no avail. Delta refused to change one letter, instead telling the online agency it would “make a notation” in the record, but adding that it couldn’t guarantee authorities would allow his mother into the country."

Oh for God's sake! I have sent people to Khazakstan (and India, and Vietnam - okay over 14 years that's not a lot of mistakes) with a "notation" on a one letter spelling error!!!! You do not have to buy a new ticket!!!
